Thomas Anderson Campbell has served as judge of the Trumbull County Central District Court since his appointment by Governor George Voinovich on January 5, 1995. He has been reelected to that position in 1996, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2016 and 2022. Judge Campbell also currently serves as the Presiding and Administrative Judge of the combined Trumbull County Courts, including both the Eastern and Central Districts.
Judge Campbell is the sixth of seven children of James L & Evelyn D. Campbell, and was raised in Orangeville, Ohio. He currently makes his home in Cortland, Ohio with his wife, Marleah R. Campbell.
Judge Campbell graduated from Badger High School in Kinsman, Ohio in 1977. He also received a Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University in 1983, having attended and received the vast majority of his instruction at the Trumbull Campus in Champion, Ohio. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Akron, School of Law in Akron, Ohio in 1989.
Prior to assuming the judgeship of the Central District Court in 1995, Judge Campbell previously served as judge of the Trumbull County Eastern Court in Brookfield, Ohio, and had earlier served as Councilman and then Mayor of Orangeville, Ohio.
